Amanda's soccer career began on the TRYSA fields at the age of 5 and hung her cleats up after a heart condition made it unsafe for her to play following her sophomore season in college. Between those years she was developed as a player by her Citadel coaches and played for Homestead High School. After moving back to Fort Wayne she began running and competing in Triathlons with her husband, but was unable to keep pace due to medical limitations. That's when they found CrossFit and the idea that higher intensity, shorter workouts utilized to gain strength and improve cardiovascular function may be beneficial for her. She has now been coaching CrossFit for 5 years and will celebrate the 3rd anniversary of opening their gym (CrossFit Praus) in a few months. As the Technical Director of Performance for the Fort Wayne United FC it is her goal to not just improve the overall condition of the players, but to safely establish a base of strength and explosion necessary for peak performance. She will also be available to help parents navigate the fitness and nutrition aspects of their child’s life, because there is no one size fits all approach to health or performance.
On a personal note, she has been married to her husband (and co-owner of CrossFit Praus) for 12 years and they have two children, ages 5 and 7.
