Fort Wayne United is now a Partner of US Soccer & Youth Player Development. Following is the official letter welcoming FWUFC to the U.S. Soccer family with the inclusion in the Development Academy U12 Boys Program.

Your philosophy and commitment to the individual development of players within your club is integral to the development and growth of our sort in this country. After thorough consideration, U.S. Soccer welcomes you to the U.S. Soccer Development Academy U-12 program for the inaugural season, beginning in the fall of 2016. Congratulations!

You are part of an exclusive group of Academy clubs that will develop individual players at a critical age and help these players progress through the Academy programs. As an Academy member, your work has the potential to develop players that will become part of our National Team program. The Academy is a comprehensive program that provides education, resources and support to impact everyday club environments that will develop world-class players. We believe that your commitment to our 7 Key Performance Categories will positively influence the Development Academy:

Our program is committed to the development of players, coaches and referees. We have high expectations for clubs to offer positive environments that are conducive to growth. We are excited for you to join the Development Academy and look forward to working with you as we continue to expand the program and pursue the development of world-class players.

  • Players receive integrated oversight from Academy club coaches and U.S. Soccer Technical Advisors in their local environment.

Consistent Training Environment

  • Four (4) mandatory training sessions per week

More Meaningful Games

  • Compete against top youth clubs in the country
  • FIFA rules (i.e. no reentry on substitutions, Jan. 1 birthday cutoff, players play-up with older teams when appropriate)

Fewer Total Games

  • Approximate 30-game season
  • No outside participation for full-time Academy players
  • 25 percent minimum start requirement
