Community Hero Work Assistance Program

What is Community Hero Work study?

Fort Wayne United FC has created a work assistance program for families in need to offset player fees. The initiative allows Fort Wayne United FC players the opportunity to enter into an agreement to work hours in such areas as coaching (Plex Sports School), concessions, tournaments and maintenance. This program is only available due to the generous donations of local businesses. Limited spots are available and the number of participants will be capped based on the donations received. 

Do I qualify?

Players who are interested must meet the following qualifications:

  • Combined household income of $65,000 or less (unless special circumstances are presented)
  • Player age groups U15 and above
  • Agree to pay a monthly fee of $100 from August through May
  • Agree to complete 50 hours of volunteer service work at The Plex or at Fort Wayne United tournaments


How do I apply?

Step 1: Accept your position on the team by signing up in Got Soccer
Step 2: Pay an initial deposit of $300
Step 3: Complete the required Fort Wayne United form online

A Financial Aid committee member will reach out to you within 30 days to let you know if you have been accepted. Please keep in mind that if monthly payments aren't made or scheduled work hours are not performed, the player will not be permitted to remain in the program.

If I'm accepted, what is the next step?

Our staff will make contact and assist you throughout the process. There will be additional tasks to complete including setting up your $100 monthly payment and determining which areas of work will best suit your skill set. We will also need some additional paperwork completed.
