This week marks the start of the first ever FWU Boys Fall High School Developmental Soccer Program (UFL). Eighteen talented players from Fort Wayne and the surrounding areas have made the commitment to forgo their Fall high school season and instead continue to play travel soccer under the Fort Wayne United philosophy of player development.
“I am very proud of these young men. They made a decision that many others were unable to make”, said Nick Potter, Technical Director of Fort Wayne United. “It shows a lot of courage and maturity to take a leap of faith by pursuing other means to reach a goal, but this is something we all believe is in the best interest of their soccer development”.
The UFL program will provide a unique “Off-Season” environment designed to help players mature in the game after a demanding winter and spring travel season. Some of the benefits include:
