It’s been a week since we last communicated with you about the dramatic impact of COVID-19 on our Club. Since the start of the “shut down” we’ve all witnessed how this insidious virus is impacting our families, our communities and our very way of life. What we’re facing is daunting, but we remain optimistic that our world will soon thrive once again!

In times of great challenge, we often see the best of people. All of us at Fort Wayne United are grateful for the selfless actions of the emergency responders, medical professionals and others in our local community and around the country who are working tirelessly to protect and care for us. A special shout out to our very own coaches who have been going above and beyond to keep players engaged!

We have also been very humbled with our members who have reached out to us and requested that we continue to take their direct debit payments or told us they won’t be asking for a refund. To those individuals we would like to say a special thank you for your kind offer. As a non-profit organization, we so appreciate the generosity. The best way that members can support us is by being there when we all get through this and the club is able to resume operations as normal.

While we still await word on various tournaments and leagues who have not yet cancelled, Fort Wayne United is fully immersed in planning for the future … whatever it may bring.

Great Lakes Conference has said they will provide a new update this week regarding spring League. Regardless of the outcome (they could simply extend the timeline for making a decision) we feel it is in everyone’s best interest to move forward with the options that will be made available to Fort Wayne United players. Our Administrative team continues to do the painstaking work behind the scenes in order to provide the best course of action for all involved. We will make final decisions and present the options to you on or before Thursday, April 30th.

Even in this moment of uncertainty, we do believe our club and players will come out of these difficult times stronger than ever. We want to encourage our United families to remain determined and hopeful. Never losing sight of the fact that better days are ahead if we remain strong.

With our sincere gratitude,

Fort Wayne United Administration
